Job Description
Job Description:
- Assist with all corporate payroll responsibilities including timesheets and payroll processing
- Accurate and timely tax reporting to federal, state, and local agencies in conjunction with ADP
- Ensures that personnel updates and pay/benefit changes are completed timely and accurately in all systems
- Assist with any future union craft payroll processing and monthly unions fringe benefits reporting
- Respond to employee questions and requests in a courteous and timely manner by both phone calls and emails
- Perform and assist with other tasks and duties as assigned
Education and experience:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree and/or related payroll or tax certification preferred
- 5+ years of Payroll experience in a multi-state environment
- 5+ years of Payroll tax experience required
- Proficient computer skills with database payroll systems particularly Deltek Costpoint
- Ability to coordinate and direct detailed phases of payroll functions for multiple projects including staff and union crafts
- Prior experience with union craft payroll and union fringe benefits administration
- Sound knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices, taxes, and reporting requirements
Additional skills:
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be self-motivated, be flexible and adaptable, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must have the ability to handle and prioritize many projects simultaneously
- Must be able to comply with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to recognize and define problems, recommend, and implement solutions
- Demonstrated experience handling confidential information and a high degree of professionalism
- Must be effective at working in a highly collaborative environment, act with integrity, and have demonstrated ability to gain the trust and confidence of internal clients
